Under the direction of the principal conductor and artistic director of the Salzburg Mozart Week, Marc Minkowski, the Musiciens du Louvre perform on two of Mozart’s original instruments. Mozart’s Violin Concerto and his Piano Concerto in A major are played on instruments that were once in the composer’s possession. Thibault Noally plays the Violin Concerto on a violin from the workshop of Pietro Antonio Dalla Costa and “conjures up Romantic brilliance from the well maintained instrument”, then Francesco Corti brings Mozart’s fortepiano to life again, thereby spreading “collective Mozart happiness all round” (Salzburger Nachrichten).

Marc Minkowski ist bei der renommierten Salzburger Mozartwoche Chefdirigent und künstlerischer Direktor in Personalunion. Mit seinem Orchester Les musiciens du Louvre legt er seit je her gr??ten Wert auf musikhistorisch informierte Aufführungspraxis. Diese Blu-Ray/DVD jedoch bietet ein besonders spannendes Erlebnis. Es ist eine klangliche und visuelle Begegnung mit zwei Originalinstrumenten aus dem Nachlass Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts. Thibault Noelly spielt Mozarts berühmte Dalla Costa-Geige, w?hrend Francesco Corti Mozarts eigenes Fortepiano wieder zum Leben erweckt. Das Violinkonzert KV 219 und das Klavierkonzert KV 488 werden auf dieser Produktion durch umfangreiches Bonusmaterial erg?nzt (darunter unter anderem Mozarts Violinsonate KV 304).
